After School Italian Classes (6-14 yrs)
The Scolari classes run for 1.5 hrs. The Scolari After School classes vary in age. Since children’s abilities vary, children are placed in the most appropriate class according to their ability and age. In order for school aged children to learn well, they need to be engaged. In order to engage each child he/she needs to feel comfortable, so the teacher creates activities to enhance connections amongst the students.
That’s when the real learning begins. These classes are designed to enhance thinking skills, so speaking from their first day, discussing the language, writing to concrete that knowledge and then using it contextually will help to further understand what they’re learning. Then with further practice, it helps students to remember it well. If you’re not sure which class or day is the best fit for your child, please contact Daniela via email or phone.
If you want to commit to a whole term please contact Daniela via email: daniela@bellalingua.com.au
Students – Prep-Yr 2 Classes
Prep children are placed in a class of their own as this class is focussed on sounds and combinations of sounds. Children learn to read in this class. After prep, this class is still centred around reading and combination of sounds. Once they’re in Yr 2, they begin with reading full sentences. The prep class only has prep children who are starting school. The Yr 1 and Yr 2 children are placed together to focus on the reading and understanding. These classes are run on Thursdays and Weekends.
Students – Yr 3-8 Classes
At this stage these students are reading confidentIy, are forming sentences and conversation pieces. They are placed in groups that will help them extend their language skills. Those that need extra support will be placed in the right group for them. It is at the teacher’s discretion which group they are in. The teacher takes into consideration their abilities, levels and personal confidence in order to extend their speaking, writing, listening and speaking skills.
